Asian Heritage Month

As Asian Presidents' Council, one of our many goals is to unite the community by celebrating where we all come from and the diverse cultures of our backgrounds. In April of every year, we host a sequence of events throughout Asian Heritage Month (officially in May) to take pride and appreciate the uniqueness of Asian cultures.

In the spring of 2016, we hosted five events throughout the entire month. We started with a kickoff event with our organizations present and some Banh Mi and Boba treats. As our second event, we collaborated with the Hindu Student Association and created the Festival of Lights with, of course, free samosas!

This year, we changed it up a bit, and added a Ms. to our event and called it Mr. & Ms. Asia! Contestants had the chance to show us a piece of their cultural wear, a talent they had, and tell us what they love about their Asian Heritage! Congratulations to Eunice Lim from Rho Delta Chi Sorority and Jiyoon Ahn from Omega Phi Gamma Fraternity!

We also teamed up with the Chinese Student Association and their event called Ni-Howdy, where they did a great job of hosting a cultural showcase to expose our talents!

As a final hoorah, we hosted the APC Games. With minute-to-win-it games that got the crowd cheering, we had tons of fun watching teams compete for the APC Games Trophy! Congrats Gamma Beta on being our Spring 2016 Champs!

We're already looking forward to Spring 2017 AHM and have so many new ideas, so keep on the look out and hope to see you there!
